William M. (Bill) Hixon
William M. (Bill) Hixon is a lifelong resident of North Augusta South Carolina, and a dedicated public servant. He graduated from North Augusta High School in 1976 and began his career in insurance and real estate in 1977. Since then, Bill has built a legacy of service and leadership in both his profession and community.
A committed volunteer firefighter since 1973, Bill has also served as a State of South Carolina Constable. He has held numerous leadership roles in the real estate industry, including past President of North Augusta Board of Realtors (1988, 1997, 1998, 2005, and 2006) and was honored as Realtor of the Year in 1989 and 1997.
Bill is a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, where he has been active since the late 1960’s.
In addition to his professional and civic involvement, Bill serves in the South Carolina House of Representatives as the representative for District 83, covering parts of Aiken and Edgefield Counties. Known for his deep roots and active engagement in his hometown, Bill is a strong advocate for North Augusta and Edgefield and remains actively involved in shaping the community’s future.

Roots
John L. and Elizabeth Hixon were the founding figures behind what is today known as Hixon Insurance, a family-operated business deeply rooted in the North Augusta, South Carolina community. In 1952, they began their business on W Spring Grove Avenue, a location that remains the home of Hixon Insurance to this day. They established a foundation built on integrity, service, and personal relationships.
Their dedication to building reliable and community-focused agency led to the involvement of their son, William “Bill” Hixon, who joined the organization in 1977. Following the passing of John L. Hixon in 1989, the company was officially incorporated, marking a new era in its legacy. Bill was appointed President of the corporation, while Elizabeth Hixon assumed the role of Secretary-Treasurer, continuing to guide the company with the same values and commitment that defined its early days.
Through decades of service, the Hixon family’s steadfast leadership has shaped Hixon Insurance into a trusted name, continuing to serve generations of clients with the same personal care and professionalism established by John L.and Elizabeth Hixon.
